I porcupine for you, because the kiss of your quills sticks me like darts So I sit here and lick my wombs and realize how close I was to your heart Some people say, "Love is like a skunk and it stinks" Or a opossum at night looks so dead when its alive They don't know, love is like a porcupine It looks like it will hurt until you get to the softer side What can a poor boy do then sit here porcupining for you Take me to the forest! Some people say, "Love is like a raccoon attack" Once your bitten by love. You need hundred shots in the stomach They don't know. It's a great mystery in fact To love a wonderful creature and ask if they love you back I'm sitting here licking my wombs And hope and pray, that some wonderful day You'll come back and say. I porcupine for you.

You keep on telling me that life is a bore Because the only place we go is to the grocery store And going out for coffee is such a treat But I got to go to a place where I can move my feet Let’s get out of this stupor and let’s get into a trance But you keep on telling me you die before you dance So come let’s go out on the town You can be Lucy and I’ll be Charlie Brown And I know that the music can get kind of loud But lights are dim so forget the crowd I know you are anxious but just give it a chance But you keep on telling me you die before you dance So get out of the house and get on the floor And leave those pills you don’t need them anymore Dancing is sweet and dancing is fun So move your feet and leave your gun But you’ve got to be right when you make your stance. I always told you... I'd die before I'd dance

Your beard got in the way of loving me Your beard got in the way of devotion What else can I say You're a cold hearted killer with no razor blades Your beard it got in the way I told my friends you were some mountain man Someone who communed with nature and worked with his hands But then I realized, you were some comic book guy Who sat around the house and kept thoughts in his mind So then I thought you were some academic intellectual Who knew how to cook while keeping his cool But your food it makes me queasy and your IQ is beneath me So go back to your friends cause you never gonna see me Your beard got in the way of loving me Your beard got in the way of devotion Your beard got in the way of kissing me Your beard got in the way of emotion What else can I say You're a cold hearted killer with no razor blades Your beard it got in the way Don't you come over like a wolf in sheep skin Don't you come over reading EE Cummings again Don't you come over like a mild-mannered Clark Kent I know you are evil by the costume that your kept All of my friends say you been crying around town But with all of those whiskers, I can't see those tears falling down But until you smell like Gillett, I will never forget It's my turn now to act like we never met Your beard got in the way of loving me Your beard got in the way of devotion Your beard got in the way of kissing me Your beard got in the way of emotion What else can I say You're a cold hearted killer with no razor blades Your beard it got in the way

HMO 02:38
What can I say, I’m doing OK Even though the doctor doesn’t know when it’lll go away But girl don’t you know an HMO doesn’t pay I paid my deductible, but I am still suspectible Of living out this pain day after day But girl don’t you know an HMO doesn’t pay for a broken heart I know you are spending time with Caldwell He’s a poetry professor and an intellectual But I want you to know you’re a carrier of a disease that makes your heart a barrier So think about that when your with him Well as I come to think of it kiss him again And then he’ll get the croup As you leave his coup And you can nurse me back to health with love and no chicken noodle soup Cause girl don't you know Doesn't pay for a broken heart

Remember when. You said you would love me then. And we would write all day. And talk in the cafes. being all that is Parisian And maybe our love would last. Or flame out like the heroes of our past. We would live simple and cheap. It's an immovable feast But I just have to ask. Why we weren't made for those times Oh... I wish they were our times Chorus But I want you to be My Zelda Fitzgerald And I want you to say about me Oh he is my dapper young fellow So dream that little dream Dream that little dream Dream it for me. Verse 2 Remember when. You said I was too modern I wasn't made for the twenties. I wouldn't roar, I would sneeze I am allegic to style and sin. But I think about it all the time I would wear my suit and you would pin your hair up tight We would dance all day with Ernest Hemingway That's a dream of mine But we weren't made for those times Oh... I wish they were our times Chorus Well I know they were the lost generation But I am just generally lost And you my love Are the only Vintage thing that I’ve got Chorus

I just called you to uncover My suspicion did we suffer I don't remember it's all fuzzy But I thought you really loved me Chorus I don't even cry anymore ever since you walked out the door but tonight I want to shed a tear and dream about you being here I came home to an empty room From a night out with you know who Don't make me say it just can we meet You are so close just down the street You know I'm right you dont love her But tonight just let us suffer Chorus I remember but it's remote Let's get together and emote All the feelings good and bad And the suffering we once had Chorus

Are you rolling the credits on our love? Am I going to be girlfriend number one? Or am I going to be... girlfriend number three? The cast according to appearances doesn't even suit me Can I write the sountrack to the end? Will it be joyous with a lot of happy feelings? Or will it make you somber and then you start to wonder What happened to the characters when the movie is over So don't roll those credits Don't roll those credits Don't roll those credits on our love So don't roll those credits Don't roll those credits Don't roll those credits on our love I don't want to see A black screen I don't want this to be the end of our movie

about

I don't know how this album came to be. The truth is it is not autobiographical. However, I set out to write a break-up song and kept going. I think in these times there is something about being "down and out." Sure it is miserable, but it makes for some great music.

So if you are feeling low, or you want to feel low, I hope the Darlings and I can deliver with a smile.

Thanks for listening,
Noel

credits

released October 20, 2012

To the best band ever formed.
Amber, Kyle, Jonathan, and PJ. They are not just accomplished musicians but also good people.

Beth for the artwork. It is easily better than the music.

Joey for the support. I wish he wasn't in Korea.

Samantha, Brendan, Leslie, Kyle, and Jacob. They are some of the best friends that don't miss a show.

Mixed and Mastered by Party McFly. Cool guy!
